Despite the change of scenery between Iowa and Connecticut, Mike Hogan is having little trouble adjusting. He describes his first explorations of the state as "a Rip Van Winkle moment" where it was as though he had fallen asleep in Iowa and woken up in Connecticut without realizing it. In fact, he prefers Connecticut in some ways because of its small size and intimacy.
